After consulting with 4 specialists from Rush to Northwestern, I was referred to Dr. Palmer by my physical therapist who had worked with some of his patients. All it took was one visit to Dr. Palmer! He has a calm and confident way about him that immediately put me at ease. He took the time to discuss options in detail, and explained all aspects involving the surgery and recovery. He assured me that I had time to think about what I wanted to do, and that he would be available to answer any and all questions as they arose. True to his word, Dr. Palmer always promptly responded to all my email questions and once again took the time to explain everything in detail. Initially I decided to just have 1 hip replacement done, but after a few email conversations with him and another in person consult, I decided to have bilateral hip replacement done. Dr. Palmer performed my surgery Jan. 14, 2015 and because of his expertise and the technique he uses, I was up and moving the same day. My recovery was smooth and complication free. I am an avid outdoors-man and hunter who was unable to enjoy these pursuits after being diagnosed with AVN stage 3 and 4 in both hips.
